ROLE SUMMARY

The National Sales Associate (NSA) is an integral member of the National Accounts sales team and partners closely with the new and existing business sales team members to enable and support the growth of client and consultant relationships within the segment. The NSA owns the RFP/RFI process from end to end and coordinates and drives activity and communication across all internal matrix partners to ensure alignment with client strategy and Cigna\'s market message.

ROLE COMPONENTS

RFP Project Manager

  • Manage new business and existing business RFP process end to end for medical, clinical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral, vision, and stop loss RFPs
  • Respond to diverse RFP formats and ability to effectively lead complex/high profile opportunities
  • Responsible for RFP from initial review and down streaming to final review and submission, follow-up questions, Best and Final Offer, and other RFP-related requests
  • Support sales and account teams for finalist meeting prep and site visit prep when appropriate
  • Partner with sales and account teams to determine strategy for RFP, ensure strategy is reflected in proposal
  • Confirm all components of RFP request are included in final proposal
  • Ensure best in class RFP response reflecting Cigna networks and capabilities delivered on time
  • Understand and correctly apply all established processes and SOPs, within expected timelines
  • Lead internal teams to secure any non-standard approvals and include in response
  • Lead all RFP related calls, including How to Win, Briefing with matrix partners, etc.
  • Serve as the central knowledge base/keeper of information for every RFP
  • Manage RFP volume efficiently and effectively during peak selling season
  • Ensure Salesforce.com entry and accuracy
Strategic Partner - Internal & External
  • Sales and Account Teams
+ Manage relationships with aligned sales and account team members
+ Contribute to direct prospecting and pipeline development
+ Participate in market events as determined by NSA Manager and sales team
+ Demonstrate reputation as customer-centric partner among sales partners and key stakeholders, collaborating regularly with segment and matrix partners to achieve segment objectives and improve business results.
  • Internal Matrix Partners
+ Quarterback all internal matrix partners working on RFP, including sales and account teams, underwriting, performance guarantee, PBAB, GeoAccess, RSU, ASU, clinical product, network contracting, implementation, etc.
+ Engage matrix partners as applicable through process and remain connected and available to them
+ Manage internal deadlines, schedule status calls, address issues as they arise
  • External Consultants
+ Foster and grow consultant relationships
+ Establish self in marketplace as skilled and reliable resource
+ Respond to consultant emails/requests in timely fashion
+ Serve as external presence along with sales and account teams during RFP process

Subject Matter Expert
  • Maintain deep understanding of Cigna products/capabilities and National Accounts processes, people and nuances
  • Expand and enhance knowledge of market message, new clinical products and network solutions
  • Understand market landscape and consultant trends in aligned markets
Team Contributor
  • Proactively share best practices with NSA team members
  • Identify and lead off-season process improvement projects
  • Support NSA manager on leadership prioritized initiatives
  • Actively participate in weekly/monthly/annual team calls/meetings
  • Engage in interview process for new hires, when applicable
  • Train and mentor new team members, when applicable
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of healthcare / managed care business; to include many or all of the following: product knowledge, underwriting, risk and financial analysis skills, marketing processes, sales practices, account management and knowledge of administrative operations
  • Experience with healthcare RFPs for some or all of the following lines of business: medical, dental, pharmacy, clinical, behavioral, vision
  • Familiarity with salesforce.com
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to modify communication delivery based on audience
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated planning/organizational skills; ability to plan for both the long and short term; ability to work on many issues at once and to prioritize work
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with matrix partners to drive deliverables
  • Undergraduate degree preferred

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 67,100 - 111,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
