Summary

The NA Benefits specialist provides business partnering to the Organization on all company Health & Welfare policies, programs and practices in the US and Canada in support of the overall Total Rewards strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance and regulatory activities associated with US and Canada Benefits are completed as required.

Working as part of the HR Solutions team, this role will collaborate closely with the broader Total Rewards team and be the main point of contact for all Health & Welfare vendors across the US and Canada. As the operational HR lead for Canadian Benefits, this role will also advise leaders and employees on benefits policies and procedures, engaging outside counsel as required to resolve complex queries.

Key Responsibilities

North American Health and Welfare Program Implementation and support

  • NA vendor management - primary operational and administrative point of contact for all NA Health & Welfare vendors
  • Lead benefit program communications/campaigns across NA
  • NA Benefits administration and operational benefits lead for Canada
North American Health and Welfare compliance
  • Ensure compliance with provincial Employment Standards requirements in Canada
  • Amendments and compliance for all Health & Welfare and Flex Plan documents
  • Monitor news feeds and Agency announcements/publications for new regulations and vet with ERISA counsel
  • Health & Welfare Plan regulatory filings (form 5500\'s, CMS disclosures, state mandated assessments, oversee nondiscrimination testing)
Business Partnering
  • Primary point of contact for day to day North American Benefits queries; operational benefits lead for Canadian benefits
  • Advise business and HR Leaders on Health and Wellness programs, policies and procedures, engaging outside legal counsel as required
  • Health and Wellness reporting and analytics, including document preparation for union negotiations
Typical Education

Bachelor\'s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Experience Details

8+ years related experience and/or training
