About the position:

This position will be assigned to Child and Youth Services in Mountain Home AFB, ID. This is a Flexible position with no guaranteed hours, but may be scheduled up to 40 per week. Light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs. Frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Lifting and securing safety chains, towbars, and hooks.

Duties


----------


Operates a variety of vehicles including pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, carryalls, sedans, crew cab pickup trucks, jeeps, and station wagons that weigh up to 10,000 pounds. Transports personnel, supplies, materials, or equipment throughout rural and/or urban areas. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand ensuring cargo is protected from weather and properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss in transit. Ensures that equipment being towed does not exceed the maximum weight limit in accordance with local and Federal regulations. Performs operator maintenance and washes vehicles. Completes records and accident reports. Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases. This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position. Incumbent must posses and maintain a current and valid state Driver's License. This is a Mission Essential position performing a Mission Critical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. The position may require the incumbent to transport children in a government vehicle therefore a valid state driver's license must be obtained and maintained; a good driving record may be required as a condition of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:



Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of defensive driving techniques and regulations. Must have skill in securing cargo for transit and knowledge of vehicle weight limits. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.

Additional information




Child Development Program will provide 100% child care fee discount for all CYP direct care staff for the first child enrolled in a full-time or regular part-time DAF CDP. A 25% discount will apply for any additional children of direct care staff. Direct care staff must spend a minimum of 75% of their work schedule in the classroom and flex employees who average 15 hours a week. Please contact local NAF HR Office for additional information.
