Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
As part of the Design Team, the Motion Art Director is responsible for the conceptual development and execution of motion graphics in service of the Peacock brand. The Motion Art Director is expected to lead the Motion Team. Working with the Head of Brand Design, the Motion Art Director is responsible for making sure all design created by the team is in line with the overall Peacock Brand strategy as well as the strategic imperatives of specific projects.
The Motion Art Director's job requires strong conceptual skills including the ability to creatively problem solve and interpret a strategy graphically. Their background should include formal training in graphic design, typography and motion design, a current knowledge of styles and trends in design and branding, knowledge of sophisticated motion graphics techniques and video technology as well as hands on knowledge of graphics software such as After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
The Design Team services Peacock Brand Design, On-Platform, Muti-title and Library Creative, Partnerships, Films, Originals, Growth & Performance Marketing, and supports the broader teams across company, so strong collaboration, communication and teamwork are required.
In addition to managing and directing work created by the team and external agencies, the Motion Art Director is responsible for executing high level projects. This involves development of full graphics packages as well as overseeing all elements of the production process including sourcing imagery, working with agencies, independent designers and artists, as well as overseeing final postproduction.
