Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training Manager to lead the development, management, and delivery of training programs for our mortgage originations team. This role will oversee a team of 3-5 training professionals and work closely with sales, operations, and mortgage staff to ensure training initiatives align with business line priorities and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of training specialists responsible for instructional design, facilitation, and training logistics.
• Collaborate with business line leaders to identify training needs and align programs with strategic goals.
• Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of training content for sales, operations, and mortgage staff.
• Ensure training delivery methods (in-person, virtual, on-demand) are effective and scalable.
• Monitor training effectiveness through performance metrics, feedback, and post-training assessments.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements in all training materials.
• Manage training calendars, resource allocation, and reporting for training activities.
• Foster a culture of learning and professional development across the originations team.

Required Qualifications

• A combined minimum of 7 years' higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 3 years' training or technical support work experience inclusive of at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mortgage operations or sales training, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of mortgage origination processes and regulatory environment.
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive performance through training.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
• Experience with LMS platforms and instructional design tools.

Preferred Skills

• Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
• Familiarity with Encompass, Blend, or other mortgage technology platforms.
• Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into training strategies.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $71,985.72 - $119,976.20 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
