The Mortgage Loan Processor assists in the loan process by verifying information in all loan files, ordering documents needed to complete the files, and updating information in the computer system in accordance with Bank and secondary market guidelines.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Answer phone/customer inquiries, provide excellent customer service to all customers
Process mortgage applications in a timely manner.
Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, GRH, and in-house loan programs.
Obtain, review, and calculate borrower income, assets, and homeowner's insurance for underwriting approval.
Order and review initial services such as title work, appraisals, credit reports, flood certificates, VOE, etc., in a timely fashion.
Obtain payoffs and releases, and other required documents to complete the loan file.
Track appraisals and prepare appraisal reviews per guidelines.
Based upon the underwriting decision, finish processing for loan closing or mail an adverse action notice to borrowers.
Coordinate closings with the loan officer.
Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance standards.
Process advances for clients, quote loan payoffs, and request payoffs as needed.
Review loans with the loan officer, enter loans into Mortgage Bot or LaserPro as applicable.
Maintain/Update collateral tracking.
Scan and index new loans to the Director.
Prepare Adverse Action Notices.
Complete credit inquiries for borrowers from the companies in which they do business.
Post-closing, administering document tracking (i.e., financials, recorded documents, title work, titles, UCCs, etc.), loan checklist review, and tracking on document exception reports.
Check the Loan Admin Email Group for new requests from loan officers.
Forward loans to LB Loan Admin to be uploaded and complete all tickets and entries to fund loans.
Perform teller duties on the Saturday rotation, during lunches, and/or other times as needed.
Delivery of documents to appropriate locations. (i.e., Courthouse, Title Company, Insurance Offices, County Collector, etc.)
Cross-selling Bank products and services.
Complete all training as required by management.
Comply with BSA/AML training and report any suspicious activity to the BSA officer.
Complies with all Bank policies and banking regulations.
All other duties as they are assigned to you.
Public notary services may be required.
Keep lenders and you organized (i.e., spreadsheets, folders, notes, checklists, etc.)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mortgage loan processing or a related role preferred.
Familiarity with mortgage lending processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with loan officers and customers required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
Proficiency in mortgage loan processing software and Microsoft programs preferred.
Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively required.
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality required.
