The Mortgage Loan Originator at our Pine Level, Alabama location plays a critical role in guiding prospective homebuyers through the mortgage application and approval process, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. This position is responsible for evaluating clients' financial situations, recommending appropriate mortgage products, and facilitating loan applications from inception to closing. The role requires a deep understanding of residential mortgage products, including all mortgage loans, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements within the mortgage banking industry. Success in this role results in the origination of high-quality mortgage loans that meet both client needs and company standards. Ultimately, the Mortgage Loan Originator contributes to the growth and reputation of the financial institution by delivering expert advice and exceptional customer service throughout the loan origination lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid state mortgage loan originator license (NMLS certification required).
Proven experience in mortgage loan origination, specifically with residential mortgage loans.
Strong knowledge of mortgage banking regulations and loan closing procedures.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with VA, USDA, FHA, and Conventional loans.
Experience with DU/LP software.
Familiarity with mortgage loan origination software.
Track record of building a referral network within the real estate and finance industries.
Responsibilities:
Engage with potential borrowers to assess their financial needs and mortgage eligibility.
Explain various mortgage products to clients.
Collect and review loan application documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with underwriters, processors, and loan closers to facilitate timely loan approvals and closings.
