A Server is responsible for providing exceptional service in our dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner services where applicable. Must provide pleasant and courteous service in an environment enhancing out guests' experience while finding effective solutions to guest complaints. Ensures that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service. Must be able to explain menu offerings to guests while providing suggestions for food and drink. Duties of this position will include serving guests, suggestive selling, delivering food, bussing and resetting tables, receiving payment, accurately counting back change, performing side work and being responsible for all transactions.

1. Knowledge/Experience

- No Experience Required. Prior serving and/or hospitality experience preferred.

2. Availability

- must be able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

3. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members.

- Ability to read, write, and speak English

4. Mathematical Skills

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and, divide

- Count cash, calculate guest checks and discounts

- Possess problem solving skills, attention to detail and execute tasks flawlessly

5. Technical Skills

- Ability to operate and control equipment such as POS systems, beverage machines, computer, and calculator

Requirements



As a Server, you will be expected to promote menu items, take customers' orders, serve food and beverages, prepare itemized checks, and accept/process payment while exceeding guests' expectations following company and brand standards.

Essential Duties

1. Provide prompt and polite service to all patrons

2. Observe guests to confirm satisfaction and respond to any additional requests

3. Thorough knowledge of all menus, specials, wine lists, beer and drinks.

4. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility by inspecting food quality standards and sanitation regulations.

5. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.

6. Follow all Company internal audit procedures.

7. Set lounge and hors d'oeuvre tables, as assigned.

8. Attend required meetings.

9. Collect payment, operate the cash register and POS, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.

10. Balance bank and daily receipts.

11. Request proper I.D. from guests purchasing alcoholic beverages to ensure they are of legal drinking age.

12. Maintain all server certifications required by the local municipalities.

13. Detect and act upon customer inebriation as trained.

14. Fill requisitions to par levels.

15. Receive customers' orders and relay them to the kitchen promptly and accurately.

16. Perform opening and closing duties and complete assigned stocking and cleaning on a daily and weekly basis.

17. Assist clearing and resetting of tables at conclusion of meals ensuring that the restaurant is kept immaculate.

18. Address and resolve guest complaints and inform management

19. Abides by all rules of Hawkeye Hotels as described in the employee Handbook.

20. Performs all other duties assigned

Financial Responsibility



List monetary/accounting responsibilities applicable to this position.

1. Responsible for the cash handling procedures, accurate processing of charges, and collection of payments.

2. Responsible for maintaining inventory reporting and accountability.
