Lancaster Metal Manufacturing is a sheet metal shop and subsidiary of U.S. Boiler Company. Our metal is used to create residential and commercial heating products that have been designed, engineered, and manufactured domestically. Headquartered in Lancaster, PA, our facilities employ nearly 300 people from our community. We are seeking a Monoblock Cutter and Assembler to join our team!

This position cuts insulation to correct size and either installs on parts, or properly stacks in containers for shipment or storage.


This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM, Overtime and Saturdays as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Uses powered hand truck to move material to processing area, or to place in storage area. Uses ban saw to cut to required sizes. Makes set ups on band saw by using stops or other devices that may be required to obtain desired configuration. Installs insulation or parts on pre-manufactured items by various methods, mainly by gluing or push pins. Prepares finished goods for shipment or storage. Each container must be marked with proper counts, sizes or other required information. Refers unusual problems to supervisor. Maintains and submits record of materials used. Do required quality checks. Use and understand measuring devices as required. Required to fill out work orders and job card correctly. Work station must be kept clean and organized. Performs other work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rated labor grades.

Qualifications/Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with hand, power, and measuring tools a plus!

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop , kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
