Responsibilities
Operate and monitor plastic molding machines, including plastics injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion equipment, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
Set up molds, adjust machine parameters using programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and other fabrication tools to ensure smooth operation.
Handle materials efficiently using forklifts and other materials handling equipment, ensuring safe movement of raw materials and finished products within the warehouse or production area.
Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring components are correctly fitted and assembled according to specifications.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating plastics blow molding, injection molding, extrusion machinery, and fabrication tools.
Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
Experience with CNC lathe operations and CNC programming is a plus.
Ability to handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment; forklift certification preferred.
Knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion techniques.
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices to promote efficiency and continuous improvement.
