Mobile Navigators meet people where they are to address their unique needs. This is a dynamic position that requires an ability to pivot quickly from one type of service need to another while providing compassionate and personalized referrals and empathetic responses to individuals in crisis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Perform duties with little supervision

Travel to different locations in the community and assist individuals seeking services and completing paperwork requirements

Respond to phone and in-person questions and concerns from the community and those seeking services

Help individuals determine immediate needs and identify short- and long-term goals

Verify clients' private insurance coverage and program eligibility and work closely with insurance providers to determine the type of services covered

Explains available services to clients seeking care

Schedules client appointments and conduct client follow-up

Become a certified OHP assister and perform those associated duties

Develop knowledge of agency's department and services; directs clients and callers to the appropriate resource

Recognizes clients in crisis and directs individuals appropriately

De-escalate intense situations

Data entry in web portals and tracking on spreadsheets

Conduct client follow-up

Attend community events and represent Mid Rogue Foundation and its services

Attend partner agency meetings and present information about Mid Rogue Foundation services in public forums

Oversee operations and respond to operational concerns at housing projects, perform minor maintenance and appropriately request or scheduling large item maintenance and repairs

Complete and maintain reimbursement request forms and other pertinent financial documents

Participate in orientation and training of new employees as requested

Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:



Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Communicate in both oral and written forms and maintain confidentiality

Former training or experience with HIPAA requirements is beneficial

Strong organization skills and communication skills

Manage time effectively

Maintain good professional boundaries

Remain calm and exhibit good judgment during escalated interactions with clients

Courteously meet and work with clients and community members

Multitask; make decisions independently in accordance with agency policy

Possess a basic understanding of poverty, trauma, and addiction

Be proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience with HMIS and Unite US beneficial

Associate's degree and one year of experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience

Possess a valid Oregon State driver's license

Successfully pass a Criminal Background check and drug screen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



Experience as an employee at a social service agency. Certification in peer support, community health worker or qualified mental health professional. Work well with participants, staff, and volunteers. Experience with advocacy work. Have problem solving skills in acute situations or long-term problems affecting participants.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



This position may require long hours of sitting at a desk with continuous visual attention to a computer screen. It may also require lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, and bending with periods of exposure to the outdoor elements.

Compensation



$22.00 - $26.00 an hour, DOE

Incentive Pay for Certified Peer Support Specialist or Community Health Worker and Spanish Speakers

80% office based: 20% field

Employees are regularly required to travel between sites and may be required to drive.

Requires sufficient mobility and balance
