Overview: The Mobile Market Assistant works alongside of the Mobile Market Coordinator to deliver an exceptional experience on the Mobile Market for customers, communities, and collaborating partners. This position assists staffing, food and inventory storage, purchases, sales records, and all other daily operations necessary for the Mobile Market to remain out in service including driving the Mobile Market. Responsibilities: Assist with inventory management, food storage, and food handling to ensure optimal food quality and minimal food wastage. Serve as a driver for the Mobile Market. Assist with food purchases, sales, records, and invoices utilizing the Clover device. Assist with staffing the Mobile Market when out in operation including the set up and tear down of equipment on site and completing order pick up. Assist with customer service, promoting the Mobile Market service, and developing the service schedule, locations, dates, and times. Assist with completing food order delivery, donation receptions, and supporting multiple garden donation drop off locations. Build garden donation process in collaboration with the Mobile Market Coordinator and assist in the oversight and networking involved with local growers including donor recognition. Ensure performance data is collected at market, including # of people served, inventory in/out, input, total sales, donations collected, etc. and keeping files updated on a weekly basis. Work effectively with the public, including helping with produce selection, recipes, and communicating with guests regarding needs and desires. Compost produce and regularly deliver compost to sites that accept. Maintain inventory of non-perishables and ensuring expiration dates of canned and boxed goods are stored in a manner that facilitates safe usage. Develop educational programs with partners that help address health and wellness, food preparation, as well as preservation methods. Regularly attend monthly Mobile Health Service staff meetings and relevant CHI meetings to remain informed and up to date. Assist with development and distribution of quarterly Mobile Market newsletter Assist in distributing monthly Mobile Market promotional/marketing materials such as schedules, flyers, etc. Maintain a clean work environment on the Mobile Market and within the Bus Barn including, but not limited to, ensuring workspace is clear and free of obstacles, emptying trash, disinfecting work surfaces, and general maintenance of cooling room. Demonstrates a deep understanding and respect for the community.
