To provide riverine flood protection for an 8-parish district on the Atchafalaya and Mississippi River levees. To maintain equipment and work to prepare the levees for high water events and annual levee inspections.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The typical day of work activities for the Mobile Equipment Operator 1 - Heavy are operating a motor grader to maintain levee roads and ditches, provides guidance to lower grader operators, operates spraying equipment. This incumbent will work under the supervision of the Levee Foreman B.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Operates a motor grader to maintain levee roads and ditches.
Occasionally operates a front-end loader or dump truck hauling, loading and unloading construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
Keep levees and roads drained from standing water.
Provides guidance to lower grader operators and operates any piece of equipment necessary to accomplish work objectives.
Makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment to keep it clean and in good working order.

Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualification and experience.
