About the Role

The

Taylor Made Foundation

is looking for a passionate

Mobile App Developer Instructor

who wants to make an impact! We're launching an App Development class for youth (grades 6-12), and we're seeking a developer to lead weekly, hands-on sessions that introduce students to coding, mobile app design, and app development tools. You'll help students learn the fundamentals of app development, explore how apps are built, and guide them in creating their own original projects - all while inspiring the next generation of tech innovators.

What You'll Do

Teach a weekly 90-minute in-person app development class. Introduce students to app development using visual and hybrid tools (e.g. MIT App Inventor, Thunkable) as a core pathway, with optional progression into text-based development (Swift, JavaScript, Xcode) for advanced learners. Introduce and implement AI technology in a meaningful and relevant way (e.g. simple AI APIs, chatbots, debugging). Create a fun, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Support students as they design and build their own mobile apps, tracking ideas from concept to functional prototype.

What we are Looking for:

Experience with mobile app development tools and platforms like MIT App Inventor or Thunkable Ability to teach across a broad age range (grades 6-12) and a spectrum of readiness. Experience or comfortable with Swift, JavaScript, Xcode is a plus (for advanced learner support) Familiarity with AI technologies or APIs and how they can be meaningfully integrated into student projects. Strong ability to engage students, scaffold learning, differentiate instruction, and support beginners while providing challenging pathways for advanced learners

Bonus points if you have:

Prior teaching or youth mentoring experience.
