ASARCO LLC is a subsidiary of one of the world's largest Copper producers Grupo Mexico and ranks third in the United States in Copper production. ASARCO LLC is a fully integrated miner, smelter, and refinery of copper in the United States with over 2,800 employees spanning 4 mine sites in Arizona.

We are looking for motivated students with a strong interest in the mining industry. Our internship program is 10 weeks long, in which you will receive important industry training and get involved in meaningful real-world projects like planning a program, designing a process, or implementing technology. The culmination of your program will include an opportunity to present your work to management.

Intern - Mining Technology Projects

Join our dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge mining technology initiatives aimed at optimizing operations. As an intern, you will work on exciting projects that drive innovation in mining, focusing on data analysis, process improvement, and technology implementation. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in a fast-paced environment while working alongside industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with data analysis and reporting for technology-driven projects Support process improvements and system implementations Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project tasks and milestones
Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, etc.) Basic understanding of mining or industrial technology is a plus Effective communication and teamwork abilities Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Experience Required:

No previous experience required.

Duration:

Requires at least a ten-week internship commitment between mid-May and mid-August.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Frequent sitting, standing, walking and some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures (not for all majors)
