JOB DESCRIPTION



Summary/Objective



The Millwork Operation CNC Department Operator utilizes advanced knowledge of custom commercial casework and millwork to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the CNC Department machinery. This includes but is not limited to reviewing/interpreting construction data/documents, specialized equipment knowledge/maintenance and adhering to and maintaining company Quality Control standards and Procedures.

Essential Functions



Product Knowledge



o Know and thoroughly understand all stations/machines in the department

Review and understand Construction Set drawings, cutlists and 3D models before fabrication

o Thorough understanding of product assembly methods

o Inspect product parts for quality and "kit" parts to aid in assembly

o Know and follow "Handoff to Fabrication" procedure

o Prepare for job handoffs beforehand:

review drawings, cutlists, 3D models and gather questions to be asked during "Handoff to Fabrication".

Review of programming on WoodWOP prior to CNC Operator running the machine

Specialized Equipment Knowledge/Maintenance



o Ensure proper maintenance of machinery (including CNC, Material Lift, Edgebander, Altendorf, Panel Saw and all accessory equipment in CNC department)

o Oversees and maintains machinery maintenance log

o Tool maintenance, ordering requests

Leadership



o Ensures all employees in the department work Safely

o Champions the Jaynes Millwork 3 Phases of Quality Control and also the Jaynes Millwork Values

o Keep the CNC department clean and organized

o Depending on workload, overtime may be required

Qualifications



2+ years commercial casework and millwork assembly experience

2+ years commercial casework and millwork CNC experience

Knowledge of manufacturing methods (LEAN, Continuous Improvement, etc.)

Working knowledge of AWI standards

High School diploma or GED

Advanced computer skills. Knowledge of AutoCAD, WoodWOP, WoodCADCAM Bluebeam etc.

Strong ability to organize, prioritize, manage to-do lists, and work under deadlines;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

This job operates primarily in factory setting

Physical Demands



The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Assistance in shop activities and or loading and unloading of product and tools/equipment require a need to perform regular physical lifting and carrying product and tools regularly.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work



This is a full-time union position.

Travel



This position requires occasional travel to jobsites

Required Education and Experience



High School diploma or GED. 2+ years commercial casework/millwork assembly, 4+ years commercial casework/millwork CNC experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications



1. Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to: drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).

2. Current and valid drivers' license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jayne's automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jayne's vehicle).
