Mill Laborer

Ashland, ME - FT/Days or FT/Nights - Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

:

Immediate openings for Mill Laborers with a well-established employer in Ashland. Great entry-level opportunity with competitive pay and opportunities to move into more advanced roles. Benefits available after temp-to-hire period. Full-Time/Days; 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM, or Full-time/Nights; 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM. Four days per week, Monday - Friday with rotating day off. Some overtime available as needed. $21.93/hr. + $2.00/hr. night shift differential. Attendance bonuses available.



The Mill Laborer will play an essential role in the day-to-day operations, supporting the production of high-quality lumber products. This position involves operating and maintaining basic machinery, monitoring product quality, and ensuring a safe, efficient workflow throughout the production process. Ideal candidate will be a reliable team player with strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities:

Operate production machinery, such as saws, conveyors, and planers. Load/unload raw materials and finished products from equipment or work areas. Inspect finished lumber to ensure that products conform to quality standards. Keep work areas clean and organized. Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery. Follow all safety protocols and company procedures as directed by site supervisor. Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns in a timely manner. Perform other relevant duties as requested by site supervisors.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent education required. Ability to operate machinery, stand for extended periods, and move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus. Background check required.
