What You'll Do:

Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement Monitors, supervises, coordinates and enforces rule of conduct and behavior of assigned students; reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy Observes, evaluates, reports, and records student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health Prepares lesson plans and materials according to curriculum guidelines and adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods (e.g. lectures, technology, discussions) Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to students Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems

What You'll Need:

Minimum High School Diploma/GED Formal military experience Must be formally commissioned by a branch of the military; Must be formally certified by the Army before they may apply for a position and then must be authorized by the State Department of Education Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Effective time management and organizational skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow directions and procedures Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance Works effectively as member of multi-disciplinary team Ability to adapt to a changing work environment with a positive attitude and problem-solving approach Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to accurately record, transfer, and relate information Bilingual in Spanish, or another language, in the areas of speaking, listening and/or reading preferred and may be required for some positions Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
