Middle School/high School Math Teacher
Job Description
Kake City School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our small, community-focused PreK-12 school. This full-time, certificated position (1.0 FTE) teaches math courses ranging from Pre-Algebra to upper-level high school mathematics for grades 7-12.
The ideal candidate is highly qualified in secondary mathematics, skilled in delivering strong Tier 1 instruction, and committed to culturally responsive, place-based teaching that reflects the values of Kake and our local community. The teacher will use data to guide instruction, collaborate closely with colleagues and families, and contribute positively to a supportive, inclusive school climate.
Key responsibilities include delivering standards-aligned math instruction, analyzing assessment data, supporting MTSS and special education processes, maintaining clear communication with families, and participating in PLCs and district professional development. Candidates should demonstrate strong classroom management, proficiency with instructional technology, and the ability to thrive in a rural, multi-grade environment.
A valid Alaska Type A certificate with a Secondary Mathematics Endorsement is required. Prior experience in rural Alaska is preferred.
Kake City School District offers a 187-day contract, competitive salary (per the KCSD Certified Salary Schedule), and full district benefits.
