Athletics is an integral part of Cole Valley's vision of developing the whole person to impact the world for Jesus Christ. We believe that God uses athletics to teach us spiritual truths. There are many biblical lessons and discipleship opportunities available as we strive to reach out fullest potential athletically. We are looking for a head coach for our Middle School Boys Basketball program who has strong leadership skills and a heart for discipleship.

Job Responsibilities:

Understand, implement, and reinforce primary philosophies established by Head Varsity Coach, fostering continuity throughout all levels of the program. Communicate philosophies and vision for the program to parents and extended school family. Equip CVCS athletes with the fundamental instruction and necessary motivation to continually improve on the court. Build relationships and invest in the lives of the students, helping them grow in their relationship with Christ as they see Christ living in you. Partner with Athletic Director in organizing and leading game day activities. Organize and conduct all practice sessions during the season. Work with Athletic Director in ensuring that transportation, facilities, equipment, and safety requirements are met. Establish clear communication with parents and players alike on their roles within the program as well as logistics such as practice times, locations, meeting times, and travel. Partner with Varsity Coach as needed in assisting with off-season activities such as workouts, camps, and meetings. Work with Varsity Coach in organizing proper inventorying, check-out, and check-in of team uniforms.

Requirements:
A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ Faithfully serving in a local church Desire to invest in and disciple students in their relationship with the Lord Be spiritually mature with demonstrated leadership experience Minimum 4 years of experience playing or coaching basketball Previous youth discipleship experience preferred Positive attitude to assist in building program

Job Data:

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week during the season. Salary: $1,500 Start Date: Season begins January 5, 2026 End Date: March 2, 2026 Practice Schedule:

Monday & Tuesday: 2:25 pm - 4:00 pm


Wednesday: 1:45 pm - 3:15 pm


Thursday: No Practice (typically a game day)


Friday: 2:25 pm - 3:15 pm
