This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 525 Lafayette Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.
As the Mental Health Professional I, under general supervisor form the clinic director and/or clinic supervisor, provides therapeutic services, particularly as a specialist for adults in Georgetown County for Waccamaw Center for Mental Health. Provide intakes to include aftercare hospital discharges, counseling and case management dealing with situations encompassing interpersonal, health and psychosocial factors. Provide crisis diversion services and consultation to individual and/or agencies, hospital and WCMH outpatient department. Prove services to all patients of WCMH and Georgetown Clinic.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I include:
Develop treatment plans in coordination with patients, family and treatment teams.
Assist with treatment scheduling and meetings.
Provide intakes and aftercare hospital discharges.
Counsel and oversee case management to individual and families with a focus on the chronically mentally ill by utilizing individual, group and family counseling and other approved center services.
Maintain an average bill time of direct service hours of 405 annually and recommend caseload of approximately 80 patients.
Support patients in gaining appropriate services consulting with local agencies, organizations and human service providers.
Documentation of chart maintenance of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, OMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF Standards.
Crisis Diversion services and consultation to individuals and/or agencies and hospitals.
Schedule aftercare discharges within standard access time of 3 days from being released from hospital.
Possess case management, crisis intervention, co-occurring, interview and assessment skills.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A master's degree in guidance, social sciences or counseling is required.
Additional Requirements:
Be able to meet OMH credentialing requirements which include specific graduate coursework including Psychopathology/Psychopathology Diagnostics/Clinical Assessment - Practice with Family Therapy (DSM) and Medical Ethics.
Must be able to show evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience maybe documented as a practicum, internship orpost graduate clinical experience.
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds; ability to see, hear at normal volumes, stand, walk, bend, sit, reach, pull, stoop and climb at least (2) flights of stairs.
Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish, or another language, are a plus.
Licensure preferred - Licensed Professional Counselor through SC Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
