Enter the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer. This person plays a critical role in ensuring all data is collected and submitted in a timely matter for all Bariatrics Programs. Your data collection is used in Bariatric accreditation. If you are interested in putting your organization and analytical skills to the test, this would be a great position for you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Identify 100% of metabolic and bariatric surgery patients for reporting to the MBSAQIP data registry.

Collect data variables: preoperative, intraoperative, 30-day postoperative and long term follow up data over time (6 months post-op and annually thereafter) within prescribed assessment and data entry periods for entry into the program\'s database as outlined by MBSAQIP.

Participate in data compilation for audits and (re)accreditation or site visits.

Review and extract data from electronic medical record for 100% of metabolic and bariatric surgery patients which may include ER visits, PCP visits, specialist visits, medication lists, labs and other diagnostic tests.

Analyze data to determine appropriate data entry based on MBSAQIP criteria.

Update patient records to reflect changes in address or insurance information.

Contact patients who need to schedule follow up visits.

Update reports to MBSAQIP and documents two contact attempts for follow up.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

Knowledge of Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) Quality Management Guidelines.

Knowledge of professional regulation and facility/program accreditation requirements.

Critically evaluate and analyze information in written materials.

Time management skills.

Develop effective relationships with patients and other external parties.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and written.

Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications

  • Preferred Associate\'s Degree
  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year Bariatric or surgical office experience Preferred
  • 1 year Data Entry Preferred
  • Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer Certification (MBSCRC) - .
