Position Overview

As a

Technician Trainee at the Mercedes-Benz Van Center

, you will learn and develop the skills needed to become a certified Mercedes-Benz technician. This entry-level position is designed for motivated individuals eager to begin a career in automotive service. You will receive hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement while assisting experienced technicians in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Mercedes-Benz vans.

Key Responsibilities

Assist senior technicians with routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on Mercedes-Benz vans. Learn and apply manufacturer-recommended repair procedures and diagnostic processes. Perform oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and other entry-level maintenance tasks. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner. Accurately document services performed and parts used. Follow all safety and compliance protocols in the shop. Actively participate in training and development programs provided by Mercedes-Benz and Walter's Auto Group. Deliver excellent customer service by supporting the Service Department's goals.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or automotive trade school experience preferred, but not required. Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions carefully. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record. Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Range:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE). Paid training and career development toward Mercedes-Benz technician certification.
