ASRC Construction, an Alaska-based design-build contractor, seeks an experienced Project Manager with a proven record of successfully managing construction projects of varying size and complexity for both government and commercial clients across Alaska and the Lower 48.

This Project Manager role serves as a key leadership position responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical and Electrical systems, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with contract requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote shareholder hire on all projects. Oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget. Establish project objectives, performance requirements, and assign individual responsibilities to team members. Optimize utilization of resources, including labor, material, and equipment, to achieve cost-effective results. Review and interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Develop, manage, and enforce project-specific safety, quality control, and environmental requirements. Prepare and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cash flow analyses; revise plans as necessary to meet changing requirements. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment. Conduct regular site visits to inspect work progress and provide technical and managerial support. Review and approve subcontractor pay requests, vendor invoices, and employee timesheets for accuracy. Track and ensure timely completion of project closeout deliverables and documentation. Facilitate and lead internal, subcontractor, and client meetings; communicate relevant project issues clearly and professionally. Engage with project stakeholders, manage project communications, and escalate issues as needed. Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for junior staff and project team members. Prepare and present project reports, forecasts, and financial summaries to management. Ensure all permits, licenses, insurance, clearances, and postings (SDS, wage statements, etc.) are maintained and available on site. Support estimating and proposal preparation for new project opportunities. Participate in pre-construction planning, risk assessment, and constructability reviews. Lead or assist with special projects and operational improvement initiatives as assigned by executive management. Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong understanding of construction management principles, practices, and procedures. Proficiency in reading and interpreting contracts, construction drawings, and specifications. Knowledge of building systems, specifically electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), and Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. Skilled in developing budgets, schedules, and reports using Primavera P6, Smartsheet, Bluebeam, WinEst, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Ability to tactfully handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective presentation and meeting facilitation skills. Knowledge of adult learning and training methods; ability to develop and deliver training materials and programs when required. Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members. Commitment to the company's safety culture, code of conduct, and policies. Understanding and sensitivity to Inupiat and Alaska Native cultures. Ability to adapt to changing conditions and work effectively in diverse teams and environments.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for a degree. Demonstrated experience managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive project management experience within a construction or related organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level or higher. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances, including military installation access. Demonstrated experience managing budgets, contracts, and construction teams.
Preferred

Experience managing projects for federal and state government agencies (e.g., USACE, U.S. Air Force, Alaska DOT&PF). Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, WinEst, AutoCAD/Revit, and USACE RMS 3.0. PMP certification, USACE CQM training, or equivalent project management certifications. Experience in estimating and proposal preparation for government construction projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
