Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups, focusing on a wide range of mental health challenges. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. The therapist will utilize various therapeutic techniques and approaches to support clients in achieving their mental health goals.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations of clients' mental health needs. Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing. Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating their unique needs and goals. Facilitate crisis intervention and management for clients in acute distress. Offer specialized counseling services including child & family counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and PTSD care. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including intake assessments, treatment progress notes, and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10). Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client records. Engage in clinical research and data collection to contribute to the advancement of mental health practices. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and case management. Provide direct support for clients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.

Skills

Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and crisis management. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and clinical documentation standards. Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions. Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively within therapeutic settings. Knowledge of psychopharmacology as it relates to mental health treatment. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Strong organizational skills for managing case files and treatment documentation.
