Job Description

The Patterson Center for Resiliency LLC is a rapidly growing group practice located in Colorado Springs. We specialize in trauma, attachment, and related disorders for families, children, and adults.

We are seeking qualified, compassionate, and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team.

Therefore, we pay the same amount per hour - regardless of insurance, admin time, no shows, time spent in meetings or supervision, etc. You never have to worry about what your paycheck will be with us. You will be scheduled for 33 hours per week.

Full time: 9:00am-6:00pm (Wednesdays 1:00pm-6:00pm)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB



Under minimal supervision the Mental Health Technician performs administrative tasks and facilitates group programs. Incumbent is also responsible for various administrative activities including but not limited to referral management, prospective client education, customer service, insurance and payment verification, and other administrative and clinical tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for entering individual referrals received from various agencies and sources into Practice systems within 24 business hours. Responsible for answering inbound calls, faxes, emails, and inquiries to main Practice line to triage, redirect, or respond to external inquiries and requests. Review, triage, redirect and respond to all voice mail messages received from the prior business day. Conduct outbound introductory consult call to referred individuals to educate on Practice services and schedule initial appointment. Responsible for timely and accurate creation of new patient portal account. Respond to all record requests in a timely manner and in accordance to Practice policies and processes. Communicate and educate new clients on the onboarding process for the portal and documentation to be completed before their first appointment with a provider. For clients using Medicaid for their appointment / services conduct coverage verification check in the provider portal. This is the process for payment verification. Prepare and finalize all client session and consult notes in a timely and accurate manner. Run Club Aspen - execute established curriculum and periodically analyze and enhance by facilitating the group components of Club Aspen to include family engagement. On a daily basis and in a timely and accurate manner prepare and complete GIRP notes (goal | intervention | response | plan) documentation for clients seen that day. Provide group and individual supportive skill-building, case management, and group therapy for youth and adults using evidence based models. Responsible for effective email management to ensure all correspondence is responded to within 24 business hours. Upon receipt of feedback and direction from supervisor, update and finalize notes and documentation that required corrections or changes in a timely manner. Regular attendance and active participation and contributions to Practice staff, supervision, and other ad-hoc assigned meetings. Correctly documenting and coding services in the Practice management software.

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS



Perform daily setup and cleanup of assigned work areas keeping them clean, organized, and ready for use with clients. Coordinating and facilitating offsite transportation for groups and activities as needed. Program activities are conducted on and off site with assigned clients / groups. Perform networking activities in community as assigned. Responsible for following established schedule to conduct periodic Office of Inspector General (OIG) and System for Award Management (SAM) checks for clinical staff. Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines. Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures. Remains current in profession and industry trends. Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by: making suggestions for improvement and learning new skills, procedures and processes. Is available for other duties as required. Is available for overtime as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in the mental health industry and milieu / group management. Must be in good standing with DORA and all applicable boards.

LANGUAGE SKILLS



Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedure manuals. Read, write, and interpret documentation that includes clinical language, terms, and practices.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS



Demonstrated experience with verbal de-escalation is required. Demonstrated experience performing case management and care coordination. Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and think quickly and effectively in solving challenges and overcoming obstacles. Familiar with and a demonstrated passion for working with youth with mental health challenges. Demonstrated ability to set boundaries and maintain structure in the performance of the role. Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Computer skills:

Work and be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Work and be proficient with Practice software such as Simple Practice. Work and be proficient with Google Workspace and applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and talk or hear. Position requires to perform work occasionally outside on uneven surfaces. Must be able to get to these outside locations and navigate the terrain. Able to navigate dirt hill and road to where horses are house. Able to navigate the various terrain at a mini golf facility. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
