Job Responsibilities

With our Agency\'s mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at 2100 Charlie Hall Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29414.

Under close supervision, will provide mental health counseling and case management services to adult patients open to the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center. Services to be provided in the clinics and community settings.

This position is assigned to the ITS/Homeshare program. Intermediate Treatment Services (ITS) is an array of mental health services for individuals with significant mental illness who need more intensive levels of support and service in their natural environment to permit or enhance functioning in the community. Homeshare is an innovative program that integrates psychiatrically disabled adults into community households that are willing to share their homes. The model is similar to child foster care, but instead supporting placement of adults who are former residents of the SCDMH\'s inpatient facilities and have a serious and persistent mental illness. Under the leadership of one team leader, these programs work in conjunction with one another in providing a comprehensive array of services that support a successful, dignified community living experience.

Expectation of meeting patients where they are (physically; at home; or in the community) to include safety in the field training.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A master\'s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

Agency (DMH) Minimum Requirements: A master\'s or doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.
