Job Responsibilities

With our Agency\'s mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 164 Waccamaw Medical Park Drive, Conway, SC 29526.

Under general supervision, you will provide advanced mental health assessments and crisis intervention services to Toward Local Care (TLC) clients within the Horry County area TLC program for Waccamaw Center for Mental Health.

Responsibilities of the Mental Health Professional I include but are not limited to:

• Provide direct clinical billable services to TLC clients daily.
• Provide Mental Health Professional (MHP) clinical supervision under the direct supervision of TLC Coordinator to MHP, Clinical Counselors, and Mental Health Assistants in Horry County.
• Provide quality assurance monitoring monthly within the TLC program for clinicians in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties.
• Provide 53% productivity billing monthly, conducting clinical assessments, individual counseling/therapy, group therapy, RPS, and Crisis Intervention with TLC Clients.
• Serve as team leader for clinical TLC staff providing MHP coverage on all clinical cases with TLC clients in Horry County.
• Maintain documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, and CARF standards.
• Plan and coordinate social activities, community outing and recreation for clients.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and trainings as scheduled.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A master\'s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

AGENCY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A master\'s degree in guidance counseling or social sciences and one (1) year experience in a clinical counseling program. Must be able to meet Department of Mental Health (DMH) credentialing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with the chronically mentally ill population. Some experience working with individuals in a community support setting.
