Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, providing essential care and assistance in a clinical setting. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient well-being.

Duties

Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals. Provide direct care and support to patients, including monitoring their behavior and emotional well-being. Engage patients in therapeutic activities and interventions, including crisis intervention and behavior management techniques. Conduct assessments and document patient progress, ensuring accurate records are maintained. Facilitate group therapy sessions and provide grief counseling as needed. Support patients dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, PTSD through specialized care strategies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans that address gender issues and other relevant factors. Participate in ongoing training and research initiatives to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements

A background in behavioral health or related fields is preferred. Experience or training in applied behavior analysis, crisis management, and crisis intervention techniques is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally while maintaining patient confidentiality. Knowledge of grief counseling practices is a plus. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the mental health field. Must be able to pass background checks as required by facility policies.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
