Skills and Training Required:

A bachelors or masters degree in a human services field: psychology, sociology, counseling education, or social work

Some of the tasks that a mental health counselor may tackle on a regular basis include:

Providing behavioral management techniques to clients Talking about experiences, emotions, and thoughts Conducting sessions with children and adults Working to set goals, develop a treatment plan, and gain insight through treatment Working to identify situations, behaviors, and thoughts that interfere with their wellness and recovery Examining social issues that may influence mental well-being including peer pressure, bullying, substance use, prejudice, work stress, financial challenges, and health issues Referring to other health professionals, as well as other resources in the community such as other social services, job services, and support groups
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $500.00 - $1,000.00 per week

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
