Job Summary

The Mental Health Association Intern plays a vital role in supporting mental health initiatives and community outreach programs. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mental health services, assist with client engagement, and contribute to the organization's mission of promoting mental wellness. The intern will work closely with licensed professionals and community members to foster a supportive environment for individuals facing mental health challenges. This intern will also be an advocate for sexual assault victims and provide insight and education in schools, within meetings, and around the community.

Responsibilities

Assist in organizing and facilitating mental health and sexual assault workshops and community events Support outreach efforts by distributing informational materials and engaging with community members Help maintain client records and documentation in accordance with privacy regulations Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for program development Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence Observe and learn from licensed mental health professionals during client sessions and assessments Support data collection and reporting activities related to program outcomes

Skills

Strong interest in mental health, psychology, or social work fields Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Compassionate, empathetic, and able to maintain confidentiality Organized with strong attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) Prior experience or coursework in mental health or social services is a plus but not required

This is internship but will provide vital volunteer hours for your school curriculum.
