We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as a Supervisor within our healthcare facility. This leadership role involves overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care across various settings including long-term care, assisted living, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, strong management skills, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through effective supervision and coordination of nursing services.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily nursing operations, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols, HIPAA regulations, and NCQA standards.
Oversee patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
Manage patient care plans including discharge planning, nutrition, pain management, and infection control procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety standards including airway management, sterile technique, infection control practices, and use of Hoyer lifts or neonatal ventilators when applicable.
Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, medical imaging, sonography, spinal taps, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
Facilitate working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics with dementia or Alzheimer's care needs; pediatric patients from neonatal to toddler care; individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Skills
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; ICD-9/10 coding; CPT coding; utilization review; utilization management; DRG processes; and medical documentation standards.
Strong leadership abilities with supervising experience in nurse management or team leadership roles.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration (including injections), tube feeding, catheterization, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing.
Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement and physical examinations across diverse age groups--neonatal to adult--and conditions such as acute pain management or chronic disease care.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments
Excellent communication skills for family planning discussions or health coaching; adept at managing complex cases involving behavioral health or mental health considerations.
Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred.
