Member Services Associate

As the Member Services Associate, you will be responsible for engaging with guests and members at the Membership Office and Member Services in order to assist with membership purchases and renewals, generate additional sales, and ensure excellent customer service by problem solving any guest needs.

Key Responsibilities * Responds to member needs, which may include membership purchases and upgrades, member event reservations, guest ticket sales and all other membership questions. Acts as onsite membership resource.

  • Enters, verifies, and updates membership data in BOS and Raisers Edge systems. Maintains strong working knowledge of Net Community, BOS, and Raisers Edge to assist in processing memberships and event registrations
  • Maintains an ongoing knowledge base of Aquarium offerings including member benefits, seasonal promotions, IMAX films, Backstage Passes, The River Society, and other special events to promote to members.
  • Listens and communicates effectively with a variety of guests, closes the sale, and efficiently inputs accurate and detailed data. Able to solve problems, address complaints and provide prompt service recovery.
  • Works collaboratively with the Membership team to achieve departmental sales goals. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and provide a high standard of customer service
  • Cross-trains with other departments to stay current on available experiences and opportunities.
  • Assists with event setup, coordination, and execution of internal/member events as needed.
  • Develops an extensive knowledge of the Aquarium and the Chattanooga community to provide a "one-stop" planning experience.
Key Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Cash handling experience preferred
  • Customer service experience required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Professional and enthusiastic interpersonal skills
  • Proven sales experience
  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn new software
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Manage multiple functions simultaneously
  • Ability to operate a cash register and handle money
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Full-time, hourly ($15/hour); must be able to work weekends and holidays.
