Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications and providing essential support to individuals in a senior care or memory care setting. Your expertise will contribute to the well-being and health of our residents, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in accordance with established protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medication administration policies. Monitor and document vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff. Assist with tube feeding and catheter care as needed, following proper procedures and guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized medication area, adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect resident confidentiality. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents with developmental disabilities or other special needs. Engage with residents, providing emotional support and companionship while promoting their independence and dignity. Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in medication administration and senior care.

Experience

Previous experience working in a senior care or memory care environment is preferred. Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus. Knowledge of medication systems, tube feeding techniques, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring is essential. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of patient care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while demonstrating strong communication skills and empathy towards residents.
