Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
Specialized Care Support:
Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and timely medication records and documentation, including reporting any adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.
Resident Monitoring:
Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notifying the healthcare team of any concerns or changes in their health status.
Medication Storage & Handling:
Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for residents.
Compliance & Safety:
Follow all regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety to ensure the highest standard of care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in senior care or assisted living (preferred)
Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
