Safely transport patients, including those with limited mobility, to medical appointments, treatments, or other destinations.
Assist patients with boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring proper use of equipment such as wheelchair lifts, ramps, and gurneys.
Securely and correctly fasten wheelchairs, gurneys, and other medical equipment during transport.
Follow infection control protocols, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of vehicles and equipment.
Provide professional and courteous customer service, ensuring patient comfort and addressing concerns.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare providers, and family members as needed.
Perform routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with company policies.
Maintain accurate trip records, logs, and patient transport documentation.
Respond appropriately to emergencies, including providing basic first aid or contacting emergency services.
Uphold company values and adhere to all safety, regulatory, and operational guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Preferred:
1-3 years of professional driving or patient transport experience.
Experience working with individuals with medical needs, disabilities, or mobility challenges.
Familiarity with infection control practices and patient handling techniques.
Knowledge of defensive driving and local geography.
