Job Description


PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Medical Scribe is responsible for recording a Provider\xe2\x80\x99s interactions with patients and assisting with clerical duties related to medical documentation. The goal of the Medical Scribe is to increase Provider efficiency by ensuring documentation is thorough and accurate. This position works closely with the Providers and medical support staff to ensure a high level of quality care.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accompanies Providers during patient visits, and expertly records important information, including concerns and treatment plans, to be included in the patient\'s electronic health record (EHR).
  • Work with Provider to complete and submit medical records.
  • Gathers and records information during/for each patient\'s visit, partnering with the Physician to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality and privacy standards.
  • Completes all administrative tasks efficiently and aid the Provider in their daily duties.
  • Assists clinic support staff as required.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED CREDENTIALS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Medical Scribe Professional (CMSP) preferred
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Exceptional customer service and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • One year of experience working in a health care environment preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to present self and situations professionally at all times
  • Strong organization, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Ability to operate computer and other office equipment
