We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities



Schedule patient appointments efficiently using various EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to facilitate smooth billing processes. Manage appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and follow-up appointments while maintaining clear communication with patients and providers. Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans, progress notes, and referral information. Assist with patient intake procedures by collecting necessary medical history and updating electronic records accordingly. Coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily schedules and accommodate urgent or emergent cases promptly. Maintain meticulous records of scheduling activities, patient interactions, and administrative correspondence in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems, and Medicare requirements when applicable. Provide exceptional patient service via phone or in-person interactions by demonstrating professional phone etiquette and compassionate communication skills. Utilize computer skills to operate office software such as Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting purposes. Assist with front desk duties including greeting patients, managing multi-line phone systems, filing medical records, and performing general clerical tasks. Ensure confidentiality of all health information while adhering to health information management standards.

Skills



Strong knowledge of medical scheduling procedures across multiple EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix. Proficiency in medical billing processes including insurance verification and understanding of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9). Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Effective communication skills for interacting professionally with patients, providers, insurance companies, and team members. Experience with medical office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Knowledge of dental terminology or clinic experience is advantageous for dental practice settings. Strong typing skills (including 10-key typing) along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation purposes. Background in healthcare administration or medical office experience that demonstrates competence in clerical support roles such as front desk operations or office management. Ability to review medical documentation accurately while maintaining attention to detail for compliance purposes.
