Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical administrative support, demonstrating proficiency in managing front desk operations and providing exceptional patient service. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Duties



Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries effectively. Verify insurance information and perform insurance verification to facilitate seamless billing processes. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth for patient data management. Coordinate medical scheduling for appointments, follow-ups, and referrals while optimizing clinic workflow. Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding and ICD-10 coding for accurate claims submission. Support the healthcare team by preparing care plans and facilitating communication between patients and providers.

Skills



Proficient in medical terminology and health information management to ensure effective communication within the healthcare environment. Familiarity with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix is preferred; experience with Eaglesoft is a plus. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing accuracy. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for patients. Ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently, including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication capabilities. Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is highly desirable; dental office experience is also beneficial. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
