Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists is seeking to fill the position of Medical Receptionist/Front Office Coordinator! We are looking for someone who is positive, has great attention to detail, and provides exceptional customer service! Our team serves patients for our 21 physicians and 10 advanced practitioners at 2 locations while keeping our "small company" culture and "family atmosphere" a high priority. Responsibilities may include checking in patients, collecting copays, handling phone calls, insurance verification, processing referrals, rooming patients, and scheduling appointments. Flexibility and versatility are paramount, as is the desire to work through challenges. Problem solving and critical thinking skills are a must. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the medical field, or to build upon your previous experience. Expectations The individual will work as part of a team to ensure that patients are provided with the highest level of care by answering questions and assuring that the patient\xe2\x80\x99s needs are met. Provide excellent customer service to patients. Maintain positive attitude and a sense of teamwork while meeting productivity goals and expectations. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum one year of experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance and referrals preferred
  • Experience working as part of a team.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Ability to prioritize and organize daily tasks. 2. Strong interpersonal skills. 3. Effective written and oral communications. 4. Computer proficiency. 5. Ability to handle stressful situations. STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE: 1. Actively supports and incorporates mission into daily activities as outlined in the Clinic Statement. 2. Maintains confidentiality of all patient related information. 3. Adheres to established policies and procedures. 4. This position requires you to be polite, team oriented and maintain a positive attitude PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • Delivering excellent customer service for approximately 200-300 patients per day.
  • Verifying all pertinent information necessary, such as demographics, insurance to ensure the accuracy of the patient\xe2\x80\x99s account/chart.
  • Collect co-payments and cash payments for DME, etc. and maintaining accurate accounting of all monies collected each day through periodic balancing of batches.
  • Assist with rooming patients as needed.
  • Delivering excellent customer service for approximately 80-100 calls per day.
  • Schedule patients using guidelines provided for each provider\xe2\x80\x99s areas of expertise.
  • Processing inbound referrals.
  • Scanning and directing fax, mail, and electronic communication.
  • Covering switchboard duties.
  • Prepping and reviewing charts for the next day to ensure information is accurate and the appropriate forms attached.
  • Setting up patient access to our portal.
  • Stocking front desk supplies and paper in mail room.
  • As a member of the O+FS team, you may be asked to assist whenever and wherever there is a need.
