Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office procedures, EMR systems, and healthcare documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations and optimal patient experience. Bilingual skills and prior clinic or dental office experience are highly valued.

Duties



Greet patients promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette Assist with patient intake procedures and document review processes Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient confidentiality Manage clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining medical records Support front desk operations by managing appointment reminders and follow-up communications

Skills



Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and other payers Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (including 10-key typing) Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette Ability to handle administrative support tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of health information management practices and medical office management principles Bilingual communication skills are preferred to serve diverse patient populations Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly desirable for understanding workflow and patient care coordination

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
