Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first and last point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently.

Duties



Greet patients and visitors professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment at the front desk Schedule patient appointments Contact patients regarding referrals, authorizations, and follow-up requests Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes Collect copays and patient balances at time of service Manage medical records and ensure accurate documentation review in compliance with health information management standards Answer and route incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries Prepare and update patient files, ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines Assist with intake procedures, including data entry and documentation review Support clinic staff with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and maintaining office supplies Coordinate care plans and facilitate communication between providers and patients as needed Maintain an organized front desk and waiting room environment

Required

Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
Preferred

Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare procedures Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing proficiency (10 key typing) Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), and medical billing practices

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
