Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Procedure Payment Collector to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the collection and posting of copays, deductibles, coinsurances, and self-pay payments for medical procedures done at Southern Endoscopy Suites.

Responsibilities

Assist in the collection process by reviewing patient accounts, insurance coverages, authorizations to collect copays, deductibles, coinsurances, and self-pay payments for procedures done at Southern Endoscopy Suites. Communicate effectively with patients, procedure schedulers, and the revenue cycle to resolve payment issues. Balance end-of-day collections and report to revenue cycle team. Document collection efforts and updating account statuses in our billing system Collaborate with procedure schedulers, revenue cycle department and management to develop strategies for improving collection rates. Research and resolve discrepancies related to billing and insurance claims Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies

Skills Required

Strong understanding of insurance deductibles, co-insurance, copays and Explanation of Benefits and the processes for collections of copays, deductibles and self-pay payments Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong mathematical aptitude Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record systems Ability to handle challenging conversations with professionalism, understanding and compassion Proactive attitude toward learning and development of processes for collections of copays, deductibles, coinsurance and self-pay payments.
