Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures to facilitate timely reimbursement and maintain financial integrity. Knowledge in Neo Med and Sertus.

Responsibilities

Review and verify patient information and medical records to ensure accuracy in billing. Assign appropriate ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes for diagnoses and procedures. Process claims for insurance reimbursement, including DRG coding where applicable. Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process efficiently. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and coding standards. Prepare and submit accurate billing statements to patients and insurance companies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.

Skills

Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of various coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG. Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and procedures. Experience with medical records management and documentation practices. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for identifying discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance representatives. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is preferred. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
