Position Summary



We are looking for a leader in a plastic surgeons office

The Medical Manager/RN plays a dual role by overseeing clinical operations of a plastic surgery practice while providing nursing care both in the clinic and operating room. This is an advanced position that ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality care across all patient touchpoints--consultation, perioperative preparation, and post-operative recovery. The role includes clinical leadership, OR support, staff oversight, and compliance management. Experience and maturity are a must.

Key Responsibilities



Clinical (Clinic Days)



Perform comprehensive patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and complete accurate EMR documentation. Prepare patients for consultations, procedures, and surgery day. Assist the surgeon during in-office procedures (liposuction, lesion removal, injectables, minor surgeries). Provide post-operative care: dressing changes, drain management, wound checks, suture/staple removal. Triage patient phone calls, manage post-op concerns, and provide clinical guidance. Administer medications and injections within scope and under physician supervision (local anesthesia, IM injections, etc.). Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions, medications, activity limitations, and expectations.

Operating Room (OR) Duties



Serve as OR circulating nurse, ensuring safe and efficient case flow. Assist in scrubbing for procedures. Prepare the operating room: equipment, instruments, medications, and sterile supplies. Perform OR safety checks (time-outs, equipment readiness, sterility checks). Assist with anesthesia setup and patient positioning. Maintain accurate surgical documentation, including instrument counts and operative records. Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout surgery. Coordinate room turnover and ensure proper sterilization and infection-control standards. Support PACU/recovery if needed, including vitals monitoring and discharge instructions.

Management & Leadership



Oversee daily operations of the clinic and OR to ensure smooth workflow and on-time scheduling. Manage HR for clinical staff -Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, techs, and recovery personnel. Includes schedules, daily workflow and workforce management. Train new hires on clinical protocols, OR processes, safety standards, and documentation. Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, AAAASF/Joint Commission or other accrediting bodies. Order supplies and manage inventory for both clinic and OR: implants, instruments, medications, skincare products, disposables.
Responsible for financial and clinical management of the OR and clinic

Manage the OR (credentialing, safety, pre-ops, post ops)

Participate in OR quality assurance, audits, safety drills, and emergency preparedness. Review and improve clinical and OR workflows with the surgeon and practice manager. Ensure all clinical consents, policies, and protocols are current and properly followed. Assist in and administer the OR preparing for state visits, clinic, office with medical care, procedures and Coordinate outcomes and measurements including clinical outcomes and financial KPIs with the financial, clinical, and marketing team

Patient Experience



Guide patients through their surgical journey with professionalism, compassion, and clear communication. Serve as the primary clinical point of contact for patient questions, concerns, and reassurance. Ensure a high-quality, luxury patient experience consistent with plastic surgery standards. Coordinate with front office and surgery scheduler to ensure seamless transitions between departments.

Administrative Responsibilities



Maintain accurate clinical and OR documentation and logs (medication, narcotics, crash cart, sterilization, etc.). Assist with accreditation preparation, chart audits, incident reporting, and quality control. Support marketing/photo documentation by coordinating before/after images and ensuring proper patient consent. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and operational planning.

Qualifications



Active RN license (state-specific). 2-5+ years of experience in: Plastic surgery OR, Outpatient OR, PACU, OR circulating nursing, scrub tech Aesthetic/plastic clinical settings Strong knowledge of sterile technique, OR workflow, and surgical safety standards. Excellent communication, time-management, organization, and leadership skills. Experience with EMRs; aesthetic or surgical EMR experience preferred. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Physical/Work Requirements



Ability to stand for long periods and assist with patient transfers and positioning. Comfort handling OR equipment and clinical supplies. Flexibility for early start times or extended hours on surgical days. Ability to lift 25-30 lbs and support patient mobility as needed.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
