Medical Lab Technician

Job Description
We are currently seeking a friendly full-time lab technician to join our busy OB/GYN practice. We are a well-established practice with 3 locations in the Hampton Roads area with 8 physicians, 2 physician assistants, 4 certified midwives, a nurse practitioner, and a full-time marriage and family therapist. We provide point-of-care in-house labs for our patients and perform lab draws/collections for send-out tests.
Testing consists of:
Microscopic wet mounts and fern tests Dipstick urinalysis and manual microscopy Urine pregnancy tests Glucose and hemoglobin testing via finger-stick method and phlebotomy Phlebotomy for various send-out testsQualifications:
EMR (AthenaNet) and OB/GYN experience Must be able to work independently and in a group setting Efficiency and close attention to detail Solid critical thinking skills Strong communication, both verbal and written Appropriate and efficient prioritization of tasks Customer service skillsEducation:
Completion of an associate's degree or bachelor's degree from an accredited institutionLicense Required:
ASCP or AMT certificationMonday - Friday. No weekends or nights. Certain holidays off.

Busy OB/GYN practice with 3 locations in the Norfolk, Downtown Norfolk and Chesapeake area. We have 8 physicians, 2 Physician Assistants, 1 Nurse Practitioner, and 3 Certified Nurse Midwives.
