We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Clerk to join our healthcare team. Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring a positive first impression
Verify patient insurance coverage through insurance verification processes, including Medicare and private insurers
Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) system: NextGen.
Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with accuracy and professionalism
Collect and process payments, perform medical collections, and handle billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, updating files, and ensuring proper filing of medical records using NextGen.
Assist with intake procedures, including gathering medical history and updating patient information in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with excellent phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately
Coordinate appointment scheduling with attention to clinic flow and provider availability
Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness; ensure compliance with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and insurance requirements
Assist with medical office management duties to ensure smooth daily operations
Skills
Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clinic experience
Proficiency in NextGen, EHR systems, Weave with familiarity in medical terminology is a plus
Knowledge of medical billing processes including insurance verification, medical collection procedures, and Medicare guidelines
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
Ability to perform accurate CPT coding and ICD-9/10 coding for documentation review and billing purposes
Strong knowledge of medical terminology across various specialties when applicable
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills
Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Experience with health information management systems (HIM) preferred; familiarity with NextGen or similar EHR systems is advantageous
Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, appointment scheduling, and office management tasks
