Overview


We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Medical Director to lead our clinical operations and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in healthcare management, clinical research, and medical oversight. As a key leader within our organization, the Medical Director will oversee clinical protocols, compliance with regulatory standards, and the integration of advanced electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role offers an opportunity to provide direct patient care, shape healthcare strategies, foster innovation in clinical development, and uphold the highest standards of medical management.

Duties



Provide strategic leadership in clinical operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Oversee the development and implementation of clinical protocols and policies that promote patient safety, quality care, and compliance with healthcare regulations. Manage multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and clinical support staff to optimize patient care delivery and operational efficiency. Develops, reviews, and implements clinical practice guidelines and protocols. Works with the CEO and Clinic Manager to develop policies and procedures. Participates with the CEO and Board of Directors on strategic development, including attendance at strategic planning meetings to update the Organization's strategic plan, if possible. Organizes and facilitates staff development activities, such as clinical practice updates and chronic illness. Reviews clinical practice by participating in medical record audits, peer review, clinical data review and other practice review activities. Provides medical practice oversight for primary care operations, to include involvement in individual provider practice and primary care program operations. Provides input and guidance regarding after hours call system, including sharing rotation with other providers. Provides medical practice perspectives and guidance to primary care partnerships with other organizations and community partners and actively participates in promoting partnerships. Assures quality practices are promoted by the development of practice guidelines, staff development activities, and clinical practice review. Assures coordination of activities and clinical practice for medical care and clinical services. Addresses provider behavior and impairment issues. Facilitates and coordinates student training opportunities, when the Organization partners with teaching universities. Provides medical practice perspective on billing procedures and productivity. Attends standing meetings (Board of Directors, Quality Assurance Committee, Risk Management, Committee, etc.) Maintain active involvement facility operations to promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.

Qualifications



Doctor of Medicine degree from a college or university accredited by the American Medical Association or Master of Science in Nursing from an appropriately accredited college or university. Successful completion of an approved program of residency training in family practice or internal medicine preferred. Board Certification in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Geriatrics preferred. Two years administrative or supervisory experience, preferably in an ambulatory, public health, or community health setting. CPR certification. Current license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon. Current DEA registration.
