Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the MediCal Coordinator:
Application support and enrollment - Identify MediCal-eligible patients and assist with California Medicaid enrollment
Program knowledge: maintain program expertise, training requirements, and certifications for all application assistance services offered by Medi-Cal
Will travel to various local hospitals (upwards of 100 miles a day some days) and facilities to ensure that hospitalized patients are signed up for the appropriate state benefits (MediCal)
Experience working with people of a diverse set of backgrounds
Transmit correspondence and medical records via mail, email, or fax
Must be detail-oriented and comfortable understanding long complex applications
Must be personable and a good communicator
Will work closely with our Utilization Management department, San Diego County staff, and our facilities Program Manager
Qualifications:
Qualifications
for the MediCal Coordinator:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree is required.
Bilingual ability in Spanish preferred
Authorized as an enrollment Assistor or willing to get authorized
One year experience in a customer service setting such as health care, eligibility, and enrollment
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office
