Job Description

Overview:
KDJ Consultants is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Billing Specialist to manage accurate billing processes, maintain compliance, and support the overall revenue cycle. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of medical billing regulations and payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to insurance companies (electronic and paper). Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations as needed. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing. Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims; resubmit or appeal as needed. Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately into the billing system. Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure proper account balance. Communicate with insurance providers, patients, and internal teams regarding claim status. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer policies, and federal/state billing regulations. Generate and review regular aging reports and assist with collections when necessary. Support audits and provide documentation when requested. Stay current with coding guidelines, billing changes, and industry updates.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or revenue cycle operations. Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding, and payer rules. Proficiency with medical billing software and EHR systems. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Pay: $22.47 - $27.06 per hour
